Majlis Khuddam-ul-Ahmadiyya, Osun and Kwara Ilaqat has jointly held the Region IV Islamic Vacation Course/Ijtema between 6th and 13th August, 2017 at Fazli-Omar Ahmadiyya College, Ede with the theme ‘Muhammad (saw): Our Mentor, Our Role Model’.
The programme featured educational activities in which children were taught various secular subjects, topics on moral upbringing such as etiquette of eating, etiquette of meeting people, my body, my pride, etc. The children were also introduced to handcraft as they were taught how to make school bags and lettering works.
The children numbered 406, participated in the various educational competition such as Qur’an competition, Quiz competition Speech context, Hadith, Message Delivery etc. Sports competition such as Football, track event, arm-wrestling, Taekwondo also took place. The female children also engaged in cooking competition.
In addition, the children proceed in a peaceful procession in praise of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) from the venue of the programme to the Palace of Timi of Ede Land, His Royal Majesty, Oba Muniru Adesoji Lawal. The children were welcomed and hosted by chiefs led by the Baba Kekere of Ede land as the King was not on seat. The children were later conveyed to the Osun State Water Corporation (OSWC) at Ede for excursion programme. History, source, nature, and stages of purity of water were part of knowledge gained by children
Also, the Executive Secretary, Ede North Local Government, Barr. Dawood Akinloye paid a courtesy visit to the venue of the programme and donated food items to support the programme. The kind gesture was replicated by the DPO of Ede North Police Command as he visited the venue.
Symposium was also held on 12th August, 2017 as part of IVC/Ijtema events. The symposium themed Muhammad (saw): Our Mentor, Our Role Model, was held at the Hall of Fazli-Omar Ahmadiyya College Ede. In his lecture, the guest lecturer, Missionary Ibiyemi Toheeb stated that the life of Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW) is a perfect example for mankind, enjoining the kids to follow the teaching and life of holy prophet to ensure that they have a great future.
The dignitaries at the symposium include Circuit Presidents (Ede Osogbo and Ife); Representative of Timi of Ede land; Representative of Sadr, Lajna Imaillah; Circuit Missionaries (Ede, Osogbo and Ife) and Osun State Central Missionary, Maulvi Mubarak Bello, among others.
The closing session was anchored by Naib Sadr, Admin, Dr Ahmad Abdul Ganiyy in which graduating Atfal and Nasrat were advised on how to live their lives to gain both worlds. The session also featured presentation of prizes to winners of various competitions.
