Public Holiday: Okerube Locality marks National, Religious Days

Majlis Khuddam-ul-Ahmadiyya, Okerube Locality has marked on 31st May, 2018 the Khilafat, Children’s and Democracy Day at Alimosho Area as part of its commitment to the welfare of the Atfal and Nasrat and conviction about the significance of Ahmadiyya Khilafat and Nigeria’s democracy.

The programme, which is the first of its kind, was presided over by Muhtamin Atfal, Bro. Akintobi Abd Hakeem and attended by other dignitaries.

In his lecture, Bro Akintobi explained that Khilafat means “the leadership which comes after the Prophet. However, different extracts from Holy Qur’an, Hadith and some other books was read to the children according to the prophecies foretold by all religions of the world that the second advent of Messiah, the Reformer of the age, has already appeared in the person of Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad of Qadian (a.s).

Bro. Akintobi Abd Hakeem Sahib also shed light on how the Khilafat-e-Ahmadiyya differs from the man-made Khilafat, while advising Atfal and Nasrat on various ways to listen to the Friday Sermon or other important addresses in order to establish strong connection with Khalifa of the time.

Meanwhile, marking the children’s day, the Atfal and Nasrat were given room to express their love by reading different poems on etiquettes of eating, etiquettes of Solat and the Holy Qur’an, love of Ramadan, respect for parents, world puzzle games and also learnt prayer on how to prepare for a test or examination.

On democracy, the National Atfal Secretary  emphasised on the importance of showing love to someone’s country and also representing Ahmadiyya and Nigeria wherever Nigerians find themselves in any part of the world, just as he educated the children on the meaning and importance of democracy.

Prizes were given to the winners of the questions and answers segment anchored by Bro. Adeleye Saheed, Qaid Muqami, while presentation of gifts to Nasrat was done by Okerube Nasrat Secretary, Miss Hussein Faiza.

6 Atfal, 7 Nasrat and 6 non-members attended the event.
