World Environment Day: Edo-Delta State plants trees, orientates pupils

By Islam Mustapha

Majlis Khuddam-ul-Ahmadiyya, Edo-Delta State has planted ten Masquerade trees and orientated school pupils on the significance of planting trees and preserving the environment in commemoration of this year’s World Environment Day held on 26th June, 2018.

The event was held at Olua Primary School, Uselu, Egor L.G.A, Benin where Primary 5 and 6 pupils were sensitized on the importance of conserving the earth. Meanwhile, it was graced by 10 Majlis members while some Khuddam carried placards with inscriptions for sensitization as others engaged the staff and students in the sensitization talk.

The speaker ensured the students were attentive as gifts were presented to some students who were able to answer questions regarding the topic of the talk. Staff were also selected alongside students to engage in the tree planting process. This was done to instill a sense of belonging and responsibility into the children to know the importance of tree planting and how helpful it would be to protect the planted trees.

This exercise was well received by the pupils, school management and local government authorities at present.
