Majlis Khuddam-ul-Ahmadiyya Oyo District, in a bid to redefine the training and upbringing of young Ahmadi children, has organized its third Atfal Day Celebration held between 29th June and 1st July, 2018 at Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at Central Mosque, Fola-Tyre, Oyo.
The event, which was chaired by Oyo Circuit President, Pa Tajudeen AbdusSalam, has the presence of Missionary Abdul Kabir Ojoye who delivered a lecture on the theme of the event “Holy Prophet Muhammad As A Child”.
Muallim Ojoye highlighted the exceptional moral qualities of Muhammad (saw) and emphasized on his truthfulness and trustworthiness which were adjudged by the Meccans even before he was called to Prophethood as best morals. He therefore, urged the children and everyone present to emulate these exceptional qualities in order to redirect the moral compass of the society.
The children, who were grouped into AbdusSalam, Adeleke, Ogunrinde and Olanrewaju Houses, participated in the following events: Qur’an memorization and recitation, Qaseedah competitions, prayers of the Holy Qur’an, Salat performance, prayers of the Holy Prophet, speech contest, arm wrestling, scrabble, March Past, Filling the bottles, 100m Race, 200m Race and Concentration race, among others.
Besides, the children were also taken on excursion to Erin Ijesha, Olumerin Waterfall in Osun State.
In his welcome address, the Chairman expressed his appreciation to the District for organising the event, explaining that Majlis Atfal perceived Atfal Day Celebration as a practical demonstration by concerned stakeholders that the future of the Jama’at and the society at large belongs to the children.
The programme came to a close after a brief closing ceremony where the Circuit Missionary, Maulvi Badmus Ashim, urged the participants to imbibe the lessons they have learnt and strive to become model of excellence to those around them.
Dignitaries who attended the event include: Circuit Missionary, Maulvi Ashim Badmus; Naib State Qaid (Special Duties), Bro. Lawal Abdul Kabir, Jama’at Presidents in Oyo and Lajna Imaillah members.
Prizes were given to the Atfal based on their performances during the competitions.
The attendance for the event was 19 Ansarullah, 28 Khuddam, 52 Atfal, 32 Lajna and 22 Nasrat.
