Majlis Khuddam-ul-Ahmadiyya, Oyo State has paid a courtesy visit to Agba Akin of Olubadan of Ibadan on 21st February, 2019.
The visitation was led by Bro. Hussein Muftau, State Qaid, Kazeem Ogundokun, Naib State Qaid and some State Executives and aimed at a hello visit to Agba Akin Olubadan of Ibadan land.
In his opening speech, the State Qaid stated the aim and objectives of the organization, making it clear that Majlis Khuddam-ul-Ahmadiyya is bent on promoting peaceful existence as the country is occupied with internal disorder.
He further expatiated that our society is faced with myriads of problem which has given birth to economic instability, religious and tribal sentiments, political aggression, nepotism and a host of other crimes, saying that all these are surmountable if only we can revive our culture of sincerity, respect for good neighbourliness and give right orientation to our younger ones.
He further said that the society can as well manage these problems by getting involved in changing our society to a better place through humanitarian services. Thus, he mentioned an instance to the above which the organization performs as a contribution on its part to the development of the community. We hold after proper logical consideration that the only way to achieve complete unison among all Muslims on earth is if by divine intervention (of course there being no other means) a single God-supported position (with proof) is found out of the differences existing in the Islamic database of jurisprudence.
The State Qaid continues that Ahmadis firmly uphold the teaching of the Prophet of Islam (saw) that “the love of one’s nation is part of faith”. His words: “We, in Nigeria, serve the country in various ways viz: blood donation, ride for peace, enrollment in the police force and Army. Worthy of mention is a recent campaign by Ahmadiyya Youths tagged ‘Stop the Crime Campaign’ which entailed education of secondary school students on dangers of all forms of crime and social vices.
Chief Lekan Alabi appreciated the efforts of the organization in maintaining a peaceful atmosphere while he brought us on a memory lane about the history and the beauties of Ibadan land. He stated that Ibadan isn’t just a town, it is more than some countries of the world; he gave an instance of the geographical land mass of Ibadan in comparison with some small countries.
He made it clear that religious sentiment which is now the order of the day is nothing but a pathway to destruction of the community. He mentioned that there exists 203 religions in the world.
In the same vain, he narrated an incident that happened during the lifetime of the Holy Prophet (saw): “some artisans who happens to be Jews and Christians were working in the mosque, at a point, they went to the Holy Prophet (saw) to take excuse to allow them perform their worship in the mosque. Upon hearing this, some of the companions of the Holy Prophet (saw) who was present stood against this and the Holy Prophet (saw) eventually granted them permission to perform their worship not minding their religion which differs from his religion.” This basically is an epitome and a model of love and unity.
He then sighted an instance of some prominent personalities such as late Otun Olubadan of Ibadan land (High Chief Omowale Kuye), a Muslim who married Mrs. Priscilla Kuye (the first female President of the Nigerian Bar Association) a Christian and yet had a peaceful time together etc. Also, he advised that human being should sue for peace and brotherhood so that our country at large can be a better environment for us all.
Chief Lekan Alabi spoke bitterly about the present situation of our dear father land, a nation blessed with best of human and mineral resources and still lacking everything to maintain a peaceful coexistence, reiterating that in the past, Nigeria happens to be the leading country of the world and as a result of the inaction of successive governments, presently today had fallen drastically.
He narrated his experience when he visited Saudi-Arabia for pilgrimage, a country with high intense weather condition yet live peacefully and enjoys all forms of technological development, where police officers paid for their transport for Tawaf, while making comparison with Nigeria, a tropical country where police officer would rather take bribe from her citizens.
While still giving his clue on the present situation of the country, the arrival of the Chief Imam of Modarikan, Alhaji Mustapha Bello who also appreciated the organization for the courtesy visit added colour to the visitation. Chief Lekan Alabi further said “the love of one’s country is part of faith” and prayed that the love of our dear fatherland has a space in each of her citizens heart.
In conclusion, the President presented some literatures of the jama’at – Qur’an, religion, and peaceful co-existence to Chief Lekan Alabi and then Chief Lekan Alabi presented a copy of his article titled “Blowing their Killers Siren” where he explained his view on the abusive use of sirens by government and warned the commoners against the harm of being stubborn while on road in a way to retaliate to the government.
