Majlis Khuddam-ul-Ahmadiyya, Oyo State has attended the 2019 Oyo youth summit organised by the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Oyo State, at Mauve 21 Event Centre, Ring Road, Ibadan on 19th June, 2019.
The youth summit tagged “Young People Renegotiating Development Plan: Turning our Demographic Dividends to Gains” had the attendance of different youth organizations in the state including Oyo Majlis which was represented by 3 Khuddam from Monatan Dil’a.
The summit commenced with ‘Briefing about the Subject Matter’ highlighting the discussion and deliberation on the way forward for youths under the new government of Oyo State.
This was followed by ‘Goodwill message’ by the State Director of Nigeria Orientation Agency, Mrs. Dolapo Dosunmu, who challenged every youth of the state to contribute positively to the development of the nation and also utilize the opportunity of the ‘Not Too Young to Rule Bill’, as well as effective use of internet and technology to improve themselves.
Amongst the speakers of the day was Mrs. Adesola Familokun who spoke on social vices engaged by the youth and its effects on their future. She sensitized every young people to be keen on their reproductive health because one’s body will not control one’s life when adequately maintained.
Mr. Olókùn, spoke on job creation and employment and Mr. Gboyega talked on volunteering, where he charged everyone to discover themselves first, build on the skill(s) discovered, develop their business and engage in volunteer service to build their experience.
Several people also gave their ‘Goodwill messages’, who include the Director of American Corner, Ibadan, Engr Sabitu Okagoke Ariyo, Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Abiodun Fadeyi, ably represented by the Speaker of Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Debo Ogundoyin and Oyo State REC, Barr. Mutiu Agboke.
Awards were also presented to Speaker of Oyo State House of Assembly and Oyo REC, among others.
