Oyo Youth Week: Ahmadi emerges 1st in Speech, 2 Khuddam Inducted BAYI Fellow

A member of Majlis Atfal-ul-Ahmadiyya, Yusuff Ahmad, has emerged 1st in speech competition during Oyo State Youth Week Celebration held to mark the International Day of the Youth at American Corner, Jericho, Ibadan, on 14th August,​ 2019.

The speech contest is set aside as one of the major events. It’s a tradition of National Youth Council, Oyo State Chapter to make it a full week programme.

The event started with a press conference; the organizers then proceeded to hold a road walk coined with sanitation from Youth House through Yemetu​ Oje Market to Agodi Gate,​ to State Western Hall, State Government Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan, the venue for the speech contest.

Only four (4) contestants were shortlisted for the speech which topic was the United Nation’s Theme for 2019 International Day of the Youth ‘Transforming Education’.​

Yusuff Ahmad Owolabi, an SS2 student of Ratibi College, and Zaiq Atfal for Monatan District beat other contestants as he eloquently,​ professionally and tactically delivered his speech within the stipulated minutes.

He had a total of 60% leaving his 1st and 2nd runners up at 43% and 40.3% respectively. The almost 20% difference between him and other contestants made the audience keep applauding in full excitement to appreciate the intelligence of the talented, young speaker.


Yusuff Ahmad Olanrewaju is been celebrated at the ongoing symposium. Receiving the speech contest first position prize from Chief Oyebisi Ilaka (Chief of Staff) representing the Governor!

Similarly,​ Bro. Adeleke Mahmud and Bro. AbdulGaniy AbdulMuiz from Apata and Coca-Cola Districts respectively were privileged to be inaugurated alongside 50 other youths into the Bode Akindele Youth Innovation (BAYI) Club.

 

They were registered online and inducted by the BAYI Chairman Arch. Bishop Kehinde Stephen.

This programme, according to the BAYI Project Coordinator, Mrs Bukola, is an opportunity for the teenagers to transform their ideas into reality as a lot of opportunities and free skills await them.​

​Nevertheless, as usual,​ MKAN members are at the forefront in discharging their duties to the Youth Council.

A member was in the planning committee while the immediate past Oyo State Qaid, Bro. Awe Abdul Hakeem was one of the panel of judges.​
