Not less than 10 Districts across the State participated in the Majlis Atfal-ul-Ahmadiyya, Ogun Regional IVC and Ijtema tagged Salât held at Yewa Egbado College, Ilaro, Ogun State, between 5th and 9th August, 2019.
In his welcome address, the Naib State Qaid, Bro Abdul Jabbar Ayelaagbe welcomed all participants and other dignitaries to the programme, saying that the Majlis would ensure the success of the event with the help of Almighty Allah.
A total of 487 children in attendance were categorized into different age groups and taken through various moral, spiritual, professional and sporting lessons and competitions in line with the present curriculum and timetable.
The activities featured in the event were: recitation and memorization of Qaseedah, Dars presentation, salat practice, Qur’an memorization and recitation, Hadith and Qaseedah competitions, prayers of the Holy Qur’an, prayers of the Holy Prophet, message delivery, speech contest, arm wrestling, scrabble and handcraft, among others.
One of the major highlights of the programme was the excursion to the Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro Tourist Village and a courtesy visitation to the Chief Imam, Ilaro.
In addition, the children embarked on a peaceful procession in praise of Prophet Muhammad (saw) from the venue to Ilaro Chief Imam’s residence.
While welcoming the Atfal, the Chief Imam charged them on three things: commitment to the Jama’at, fear of God and acquisition of knowledge for the propagation of Islam.
Afterwards, the children were taken to the Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro Tourist Village for excursion programme. History, source, nature and kinds of animals were part of knowledge gained by children.
The participants were taken through the various activities such as the kinds of animals, their life span and mode of feeding.
Another event was the symposium. The lecture, delivered by Missionary Abdul Majeed Adeleke, had in attendance the Former Amir, Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at, Nigeria, Alhaj H.O. Sunmonu, Circuit President, Ilaro and Ota Circuit Central Missionary, Ilaro and its environs, Maulvi Hashim Badmus, Central Missionary, Ota and its environs, former NSA, Bro Akewugberu, Muallimeen, Jama’at Presidents across Ilaro, Sadr Sahib representative, Bro Edun and Coach Jamiu, State Qaid Sahib, Bro Ibrahim Idris ably represented by NSQ Admin, Bro Jabbar Ayelaagbe, Lajna Sadr District II, Mrs Odeyemi, Circuit President, Ilaro and Lajna President, Sabo Muqami.
Muallim Abdul Majeed highlighted the exceptional moral qualities of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (saw) on Salat and emphasized that it should be emulated, while urging the children and everyone present to emulate these exceptional qualities in order to redirect the moral compass of the society through extensive prayer and at its prescribed time.
During the closing ceremony chaired by Sadr MKAN, Ilaro Circuit President, represented by Pa Ade Adebayo urged the participants to imbibe the lessons they have learnt and strive to become model of excellence to those around them.
The graduating Atfal were advised by the Sadr Sahib on how to live their lives to gain in both worlds.
The session also featured presentation of prizes to winners of various competitions, thereafter, Certificates of Participation were given to all participants including the distribution of At-Tifl Magazine.
