Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Organization (Majlis Khuddam-ul-Ahmadiyya), Ahmadi male Kids (Majlis Atfal-ul-Ahmadiyya) Oyo State has attended the Nigeria Independence Day Commemoration at Lekan Salami Stadium on 1st October, 2019.

Having attained freedom from the British Colonial Rule, Nigeria marked her 59th anniversary with the address of the President Muhammadu Buhari broadcast at national televisions and published by daily newspapers, journals and magazines.

This address was replicated by the state governments through the governors coupled with celebrations later in the day.

In Oyo State, however, the celebration took place at Lekan Salami Stadium where the Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, represented by his Deputy, Engr. Rauf Olaniyan, inspected a guard of honour of the Nigeria Police to kick start the event.

March past by uniformed organizations, paramilitary, voluntary youth organizations, public and private schools was one of the highlights of the day.

As a voluntary youth group and a full affiliate member organization, Oyo State Majlis joined other voluntary youth organizations to march past the governor under the banner of National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN).

The member organizations of NYCN lined up behind a banner of NYCN to show the viability of the youth council in the state; it was a joint parade of the Majlis Atfal (Young Ahmadi Male Children) and the Majlis Khuddam (Youth Group) flying their banner to show their love, support and loyalty for their country.

Dignitaries from both public and private institutions attended the event from all over the state.

Not less than 20 members including the Atfal represented the Majlis Khuddam.
