An Ahmadi youth, Bro. Abdul Jabbar Ayelaagbe has emerged the Chairman of National Youth Council of Nigeria, Ogun State during the Youth Council Congress held on 2nd November, 2019.
History was made as youths across the 20 Local Government Areas and 23 Affiliated Organizations came together at a Congress held at Valley View Auditorium, Government House, Isale Igbein, Abeokuta to elect new state executives council that will steer the leadership for the next 4 years (2019 – 2023).
The Delegation includes 5 youths from each of the 20 LGAs in the State, 3 youths each from the State Affiliated Organizations such as Boys Scout, Nigeria Red Cross Society, Boys’ Brigade, Man O’ War, Ansar-ud-Deen Youth, Nawair-ud-Deen Youth, Catholic Youth, Majlis Khuddam-ul-Ahmadiyya, Girls’ Guide and Organization of African Instituted Churches, among others.
The youth council election was ably observed by the Executive Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun through the Special Adviser on Youths Empowerment, Mr Olude, Directors from Ogun State Ministry of Youths and Sports, National Officers, 3 State Chairmen, security agents, numerous observer groups and students union bodies.
Abdul Jabbar Ayelaagbe who was an aspirant under Majlis Khuddam-ul-Ahmadiyya, Nigeria was declared the winner of the election having secured 145 votes over his running mate, Mosaku Olanrewaju having 14 votes
Despite numerous false allegations levelled against Abdul Jabbar. With due prayer to Allah the Almighty and his merits, he eventually won.
Among those that attended the congress are the State Qaid, Bro Ibrahim Idris; Naib State Qaid (Special Duty), Alh Jamiu Oje; State Motamad, Bro Sa’eed Idowu; Bro Omitola Habeebullah; Bro Abdul Tawwab Akewugberu and Dil’a Qaideen from Abeokuta, Ijebu Ode and Ipokia respectively.
