The Honourable Commissioner for Regional Integration and Special Duties, Hon. Badmus Olalekan has lauded Ahmadi Muslim Youth Organization (Majlis Khuddamul-Ahmadiyya), Osun State for its humanitarian activities, just as he called other youth organizations to emulate these noble ideals.
The Commissioner made this statement when the Osun State Ahmadi Youth made a courtesy visit to his office on 22nd July, 2020 in appreciation of Osun State Government for regular payment of workers’ salary and construction of roads in the state and to also thank him for attending the National Annual Convention of Ahmadiyya Muslim Community 2019 as a representative of Governor Gboyega Oyetola.
The Commissioner was impressed with the presentation made by Osun State Deputy Ahmadi Youth Leader, Bro Saheed Alawode on various humanitarian activities carried out by Ahmadi youths in the State.
Honorable Badmus appreciated the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community at large for promoting Islam as a religion of peace referencing his visit to 2019 Jalsa Salana Nigeria where he represented the State Governor, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola.
“I never believe such Islamic community with such believers still exist. When you hear the word ‘Islam’, what comes to people’s minds is phobia or terrorism but I saw different things there,” the Commissioner mentioned.
He also added: “The last time I had such experience was when I attended the IVC and that’s a long time ago.”
He however called for far-reaching publicity and awareness for any Majlis humanitarian activities in the state, especially during blood donation programmes.
The Osun State Central Missionary, Maulvi Mubarak Bello prayed that Allah continues to help the Commissioner and the State Government in their physical and spiritual tasks.
Some Ahmadiyya pieces of literature such as World Crises and Pathway to Peace, Islam and Human Rights and some copies of Review of Religion were presented to the Commissioner.
