To exhibit love and doting to people in the society irrespective of class, colour and clime, Majlis Khuddam-ul-Ahmadiyya, Lagos State has visited the Nigerian Prison in Ikoyi, joining other members in the nation to mark its welfare week.
The 12-man visitation to the inmates, led by the State Qaid, Bro Shuaib Badmus, was done immediately after the Ride for Peace programme was concluded.
In his remarks, Bro Badmus advised the inmates to be closer to Allah (swt) as He is the only Being who can help man in times of difficulties, advising them to be of good moral and best character always in dealing with other inmates and as well as the officials of the prison.
The Muhtamin Umumi, Bro AbdulQadri Jamiu advised the inmates to always shower blessings upon the noble Prophet Muhammad (saw) as he narrated the story of Prophet Yunus and how Allah (swt) saved him from the belly of fish. He affirmed doing this can help one get out of challenges.
The Ilaqa Mutamad, Barrister Tahir Ahmad also addressed the inmates and revealed that effort is being made to help some of them with minor cases and also those who have not appeared in court or do not have lawyer(s) speaking for them. He also advised that they should be of good morals at all times for recommendation by the officials of the prison may make or mar the inmates.
The Imam of the mosque at the prison informed the members of challenges they are facing which is more of hunger. As a result, they sought help
from members and other NGOs out there to help relieve them of this suffering and help in any other ways possible. They equally sought sponsors for some of them who would like to study further.
