In line with Majlis Khuddam-ul-Ahmadiyya, Nigeria (MKAN) directive, Abidogun Muqami has held a community-based development work as part of activities marking the National Waqar-e-Amal on 25th February, 2018 at the hub of Abidogun Street off Abeokuta Expressway, Omi-Adio, Ibadan.
The work involves the repair of a damaged bridge culvert serving waterways for the tarred Abidogun Road. This damaged spot is a severe threat to the whole culvert, which if damaged further, could lead to cut-off of the road that serves over one hundred (100) villages. Sledgehammer was put to use to cut-open the damaged spot so as to allow for a recast.
One (1) length of 16ML iron rod used to solidify the new cast, two (2) bags of cement, granite, sands, six (6) 1 by 12 wood slab, binding wire, bamboo trees, sledgehammer, two (2) shovels and banner were used in accomplishing the task.
15 Majlis members and one Ansarullah member participated in the exercise that lasted more than five hours.
The members of the Muqami was greatly fulfilled by a lot of commendations the work attracted from the members of the community, being a timely intervention to what people see as a serious threat to usage of the tarred road. One passerby categorically mentioned that Ahmadiyya are known for helping the society.
