Welfare: Lagos State visits Ikoyi Prison

Majlis Khuddam-ul-Ahmadiyya, Lagos State has paid a welfare visitation to the Nigerian Prison, Ikoyi to show love and a sense of belonging to the inmates.

The 32-man team, led by the Naib Sadr SouthSouth/SouthEast, Bro. Sulaiman Ameen was selected immediately after the Ride for Peace Programme to exhibit love to people in the society irrespective of class, colour and clime.

The Naib Sadr, while addressing the inmates, advised them to maintain good manner and also engage in some small projects that can earn them recommendation for freedom.

In his remarks, the State Qaid, Bro. Shuaib Badmus advised the inmates to be closer to Allah (swt) as He is the only Being who can help man in times of difficulties, advising them to be of good moral and best character always in dealing with other inmates and as well as the officials of the prison.

The MKA Lagos State Secretary and National Legal Adviser, National Youth Council of Nigeria, Barrister Tahir Ahmad, also addressed the inmates and revealed that effort was being made to help some of them with minor cases and also those who have not appeared in court or do not have lawyer(s) speaking for them.

He also advised that they should be of good morals at all times for recommendation by the officials of the prison to free inmates. He told them regular checks would be made to ensure the promises are met.

The Imam of the mosque thanked members of the Majlis for their love and spirit of brotherhood while clothes were presented to the inmates.   1. Unless you’re living in Thailand permanently, it’s just not practical to carry full motorbike safety gear around with you. But you can do a hell of a lot better than Flipflops, Swimshorts, a vest & a half helmet. If the rental shop has a full helmet, pick that one! Half helmets offer no protection for you if you face-plant the tarmac. Goodbye teeth. You can pick up a full helmet online. Wear jeans when riding, these will at least offer a small amount of skid protection. And find a cheap denim or leather jacket at one of the markets or export shops. While this offers no impact protection, if you ever fall off, you’ll be grateful for the few layers between you and the asphalt.
