Majlis Khuddam-ul-Ahmadiyya, Oyo State has organised its first Inter-District Quiz Competition and rewarded outstanding participations on 15th June, 2019.
The Inter-District Quiz was organised to encourage the students to widen their secular and Islamic knowledge with a view to competing favourably with their counterparts in society.
Two students in each category from 11 Districts participated in the competition. Each team was asked questions. All the teams were well prepared and the competition was very tough. The students surprised the audience with their in-depth knowledge.
The results were announced at the end of the quiz. The following were declared the winners: Junior Category – Oyewole Tahir and Ismail Fatiah (Oyo), Mid-Senior Category – Busari AbdulMujeeb and AbdusSalaam Fadhlullah (Monatan) and Senior Category – Morenikeji AbdurRafiq and Dikko Toheerah (Coca-Cola) while Yusuf Alli and Balogun Faridah (Ibadan), Raji Jubril and Adekunle Iqram (Coca-Cola) and Oladele AbdulBaseet and Olaniyi AmotulLateef (Apata) were adjudged the runners-up.
In conclusion, cheques of #40,000.00, #30,000.00 and #25,000.00 were awarded to the winners in the Senior Category, Mid-Senior Category and Junior Category and the runners-up for the Senior Category, Mid-Senior Category, and Junior Category were given cheques of #30,000.00, #20,000.00, and #15,000.00 respectively as a way to commend their efforts.
The event was graced and chaired by Sadr, MKAN, Engr Saeed Kunleola Aina who also sat as an observer for the Senior Category; Ibadan Circuit President, Alhaji Muslihudeen Ademoye; Prof. AbdurRahman Abdullah of Babcock University and Prof S.O. Ismail (Dean, Faculty of Engineering) FUNAAB ably represented by Mr. Daud Dikko, lecturer, Department of Mathematics, University of Ibadan, and also a special guest in the capacity of former State Qaid, Oyo State.
Also, Deputy Chairman, National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Oyo State Chapter, Comrade Ramoni Ishola and Alhaji Engr. Nurudeen Musa, among others commended the organizers for staging such outstanding programme.
The day was also celebrated as motivational day for admission seekers (Jambites) who scored 220 and above with a highest score of 305 in the just concluded JAMB exam. They were invited to grace the programme. All were recognised for their outstanding performances as prayers were offered for them to achieve their respective aims.
