MKAN CAREC flags off Cohort One skill acquisition, 11 members participate


Majlis Khuddam-ul-Ahmadiyya, Career and Entrepreneurship Clinic has flagged off skill acquisition (Cohort I) at MKAN Secretariat, Ojokoro, Lagos between 17th and 18th August, 2019.

The maiden CAREC training was organised under the leadership of the Sadr, Eng. Saheed Aina, to enhance human capacities of Ahmadi youths.

 The attendees from Lagos, Ogun and Kwara States were trained on Graphics and Photography/Cinematography by MKAN professionals.

Furthermore, a follow-up/mentorship arrangement was made for the participants to further their knowledge in the fields through an online group platform and opportunity to work with the facilitators.

Meanwhile, it will be recalled that Huzur, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad (atba) 3 months ago had sent his prayers and approval for the CAREC project. The Career and Entrepreneurship Clinic (CAREC) of Majlis Khuddam-ul-Ahmadiyya Nigeria (MKAN) is a flagship initiative that aims at the development of the human capital of Ahmadiyya Community in Nigeria. Specifically, CAREC focuses on providing a platform for the youths, facilitating access to wealth of experience of veteran professionals across diverse sectors of the economy in order to enhance their competencies and capabilities. The Centre will also provide necessary supports to students, professionals, aspiring and established entrepreneurs through career and entrepreneurship clinics, workshops, bootcamps, seminars, and mentorship programmes.

At the closing session of the 3-day programme, Engr. Aina encouraged the participants to further their learning on the skills acquired as it is the only way to attain maximum benefits from the bootcamp.

He furthered promised that more of the training would be organised by the MKAN CAREC team in order to train and enhance their human capacities.

The training was well conducted with a lot of practical session and participants were really glad to be part of the opportunity.

11 participants partook in the training; they were divided into 3 different classes based on interests. Eight (8) for Graphics and Three (3) for Photography/Cinematography.

The facilitators are:
Idris Ridwan Abiola (Graphics):
He’s a Majlis member in Lagos. He works for Software-Multimedia Company (Softcom). He is a young and dynamic professional who continues to learn and evolve in continuous creative industry.

Sherifdeen Olowofayokun (Videography):
He is a Majlis member from Kwara Ilaqa. He’s a freelance photographer and videographer and CEO Ollams Pictures. He captured all Jalsa, Ijtema and Workshop event pictures/videos used on social media platforms. He likes to explore opportunities when given a chance.

Sodiq Ismail (Photography):
He is a member of Lagos Majlis. He is a seasoned and award-winning professional especially in photography. He is the Creative Director of YinkaDaImage Photography. He loves to inspire young ones to take up his large size boot.
