Oyo State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Asiwaju Oluwaseun Fakorede has hurled praises on Ahmadi Muslim Youth (Majlis Khuddam-ul-Ahmadiyya) while receiving its delegation at his office, Ministry of Youth and Sports Complex, State Secretariat, Ibadan on 15th November, 2019.
While giving a formal introduction of his organization and purpose of the visit, the state president (Qaid), Bro. Hussein Muftaudeen congratulated the youngest commissioner on his appointment.
“Although the greeting is belated, this is our official visit and it must be mentioned. It is indeed a great pleasure having a vibrant mind like you occupying this seat and it is our prayer that God see you through to achieve outstanding success,” Bro Hussein Muftaudeen mentioned.
Furthermore, he reiterated that his group is known for selfless services despite been a faith-based voluntary youth organization affiliated with the National Youth Council of Nigeria.
“We engage in community development services, sensitization of the young minds and public on the need to shun crime through the annual Stop the Crime Campaign, Ride for Peace, consistent Voluntary Blood Donations by our members for almost 4 decades at University College Hospital (UCH) Blood Bank and National Blood Transfusion Service as we do other selfless services too,” he explained.
In his response, Fakorede lauded the amazing activities carried out by the Majlis Khuddam and pledged his support.
“By God’s grace, I’ll support your programmes so far the motives are in the best interest of people of Oyo State. My principal, Gov. Seyi Makinde is also youth-oriented and loves such services being rendered by you,” the Commissioner said.
He added: “You know, to put security in check, the people at the core of it is the youths. Likewise, when chaos breaks out, youths are the engine. Duly inform me of any programme, and I shall be there or send any of my trusted associates to represent me.”
The State Sport Secretary, Bro. Tahir Adeitan used the medium to intimate the commissioner about the group’s sporting activities from national, state and district conventions, sports festivals to martial arts open championship and camps, among others.
He sought the opportunity to invite the Hon. Commissioner to the Ahmadiyya International Martial Arts Association (AIMAAN) 2019 Camp and Open Championship, saying that the event would come up between 23rd and 25th November, 2019 at Obafemi Awolowo Stadium (Liberty) and Ahmadiyya Central Mosque, Oke Ado, Ibadan respectively.
“We commend you and say a great well-done. This ‘Omi Tuntun’ administration will try her best for the development of the youths as well as the entire populace even if there were no much supports in the past,” Fakorede assured the youth.
The delegations include the youth State President (Ilaqa Qaid), Bro. Hussein Muftau, Ibadan District head, Bro. Adenekan Moshood, Secretary in charge of Children Training, Bro. Yusuf Ridwanullah and Sports Secretary, Bro. Adeitan Tahir, among others.
Ride for Peace T-Shirt, Al-Irfan Magazines and World Crisis and Pathway to peace written by his Holiness, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad (Worldwide Head of Ahmadiyya Muslim Community) were presented to the Commissioner.
