Ahmadi Youth Leader grace maiden Jamia Annual Academic Conference

By Abdul Roqeeb Ogunrinde

The Ahmadi Muslim Youth Organization (Khuddamul-Ahmadiyya, Nigeria), leader, Dr. Taofeek Sanni have attended the maiden Annual Academic Conference of Jamiatul Mubashireen Training College held at Ilaro, Ogun State on 21st March, 2021.

The conference, which featured numerous educative lectures and presentations by notable Jama’at scholars, is the first of its kind in the history of the institution.

The first section of the programme was chaired by Alh Abdul Azeez Toye.

In his first lecture on “Nubuwwat of the Promised Messiah”, Missionary Muzaffar emphasized the need for prophethood under the precept of the Holy Quran and the path of Muhammad.

As the Mahdi was prophesied to come in the latter days as a prophet, Hadhrat Ghulam Ahmad is the spiritual appearance of the expected Messiah and Mahdi, said Missionary Muzaffar.

The second lecture on “Sufism and Aina Kamaalatul Islam” was delivered by the iconic scholar, Dr. Saeed O. Timehin.

He explained that many scholars erroneously believe that the Promised Messiah condemns Sufism. On the contrary, Dr. Timehin confirms that the Messiah simply advised against and condemned the ills and unislamic practices of the popular sect.

The second session, chaired by Dr. Majeed Hassan Bello, started with a lecture from another erudite scholar, Mubashir Muhammad Waaiz Apooyin.

Mubashir Apooyin educated the audience on “the Allegations on the Arabic Books of the Promised Messiah”, arguing that many antagonistic scholars are simply ignorant of the rules and applications of the Quranic and classical Arabic.

The missionary added that Prophets of Allah are granted in-depth knowledge and insight into the Arabic Language.

The final lecture of the day was delivered by the distinguished Maulvi Abdul Azeez Ahmad took place.

Maulvi Ahmad discussed “the Approach of the Promised Messiah to Fiqh” in great detail. He painstakingly explained how the state of Islamic jurisprudence was best described as “decaying” before the advent of the Promised Messiah.

Consequently, the Maulvi said that Allah raised the Promised Messiah as the “Hakaman Adalan” – the Just Judge” whose mandate was to reintroduce the real Islam to the Ummah and remove unwholesome innovations bedeviling the religion.

He further highlighted some of the issues that the Promised Messiah has done justice to concerning relieving oneself from fasting while on journey or sickness; performing qasr while on a journey and the raising up of hands in Salat, among others.

Although Sadr left before the end of the concluding session, it was obvious that he and his uniformed entourage agreed that the conference was, unequivocally, a huge success and would only improve in all ramifications subsequently.

The conference was also graced by invited distinguished leaders within the Jamaat: Maulvi T. Ọ Shoboyede; Sadr Majlis Ansarullah, Alh. A.W.A. Adeoye; National Waqfe-Nau Secretary, Hafiz Abdul Ghaniyy Shobambi and Hafiz Muslihuddeen Opayemi among other prominent Missionaries and Maulvis.

Guests outside the Jama’at present at the conference include the representative of Mudir, Markaz Agege, the representative of the Special Adviser to Ogun State Governor on Youth and Sport and the representative of the Chairman, National Youth Council of Nigeria, (NYCN) Ogun State Chapter.
