Members of Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Organization (Majlis Khuddamul-Ahmadiyya, Lagos State) have attended the commissioning of a Medical Oxygen Plant, Triage Centre and Blood Transfusion Centre at the General Hospital, Gbagada held recently.
The auspicious event was graced by the presence of important personalities such as the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwoolu, his Deputy, Dr. Femi Ajibola Hamzat, the Lagos State Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi and the Deputy Managing Director of Total Nigeria Plc, Engineer Victor Bandele, amongst several other dignitaries.
In his welcome address, Engineer Victor Bandele said the oxygen plant, which was designed to run for 20hrs/day, has a production capacity of 30m3/hr of medical oxygen and it is expected to produce an equivalent of 100 bottles of oxygen per day.
The plant was one in a series of interventions that Total has made to support the Federal Government, Lagos and other State Governments since the outbreak of the Corona Virus pandemic in Nigeria.
In his remarks, the Honourable Commissioner for Health, Lagos State, Professor Akin Abayomi stated that there is a master plan for Gbagada General Hospital and urged the residents of Lagos State to be patient with the government with regard to their expectations from it.
