The newly-elected Sadr, Majlis Khuddamul-Ahmadiyya, Nigeria, Bro Roqib Akinyemi has made his first official visit to the Ogun State Welfare Grand Finale at Ilaro Ogun State on 13th November, 2021.
The programme was held to mark the end of welfare week in the state, which usually encapsulates visitation to the sick, less privileged, hospitals and motherless homes among others.
In his speech, the Sadr mentioned that members of Majlis Khuddamul-Ahmadiyya should ensure that at all times they show mercy to all creatures of Almighty Allah, while advising the attendees to be socially responsible in giving back to the community they reside.
He further encouraged Majlis members to be good to their family members, listen to them and care for them. He also advised members who want to be responsible to follow the footsteps of Muhammad as he’s our model as the best of mankind.
He implored members to be up and doing and active in their responsibilities and encourage brothers who are not active by visiting them, praying for them and talking to them with wisdom.
The new Sadr also discussed contemporary issues affecting the Majlis and motivated the attendees to show some levels of commitment in their activities, just as he urged them to be responsible in their social responsibility to the members of the societies.
The Ogun State Leader (Qaid), Bro Saeed Idowu, while making his address, mentioned their visitation to Ogun State Hospital Management board, Ilaro, where patients were prayed for and various items such as beverages and toiletries were donated.
Likewise, a house-warming visit was made to the former Sadr, Engr S. K. Aina as well as some ailing elders, including Pa Mustapha, Baba Onitiro and gifts were offered to them.
Besides, he also spoke on the theme of the event, “Social and Family Affairs”. He explained that Islam empowers individuals to acknowledge one another irrespective of our differences, noting that our diversity in terms of colour, caste and clime should make us appreciate ourselves and learn more about that diversity that exists among us.
According to State Qaid, this year’s welfare lecture with its theme ‘Social and Family Affairs’, therefore, intends to enlighten us on the responsibilities, rights and etiquettes taught to us by our noble Prophet Muhammad (saw) with regard to building the bond of love with any individual we may come across in the society.
Attendees were given the privilege to ask questions and he provided adequate answers to all questions.
The Sadr Sahib also met a team of Ogun State National Blood Transfusion Service (NBTS) who were invited to the programme, hence, he encouraged them to be always available to provide blood to members of Majlis Khuddamul-Ahmadiyya Nigeria when the need arises as MKAN is a frontier of blood donation in Nigeria.
The NBTS acknowledged Sadr Sahib’s demands and assured Sadr that the Majlis will always be welcomed when blood is demanded.
At the event, a total number of 26 pints of blood was donated by the Majlis members.
